30 Days and Counting

Sydney Jane is scheduled to arrive exactly 30 days from today! Hooray!!!

And I still feel great and look pretty damn good, if I do say so myself.

But we still have lots to do --- waffling again on the nursery theme, and thinking I will go with "Guess How Much I Love You" after all. So I suppose I should start crackin' on those murals.

I've got the room nearly set up the way I want it -- we plan to remove the closet doors and replace with curtains and put the bureau inside the closet (drawers are too wide to open with the sliding closet doors on.

I definitely don't feel 8 months pregnant. Only complaints are the occasional heartburn (thank Heavens for Tums) and the shortness of breath when I forget I'm pregnant and I race up teh stairs. Surprisingly, it's no worse here at 6500 feet -- I kind of expected to get winded more easily this time around because of hte altitude, but no worries there.

Speaking of "No Worries," we started discussing our Australia trip today. Lots of exciting planning to do...

Sally is doing outstanding with hte pottying -- now she is completely independent about pottying at home (announces "I'll be right back" and goes potty by herself) and at school, she lets them know after she just went. When we're out, she tells us to take her to the restroom. So cute. So I think we'll be transitioning into panties this week. And Sally plans to transition into the Primary class at school very soon -- her 2 good friends from school (Sarah and Logan) are moving up around the same time.

Sarah's mommy is also pregnant -- in fact, she is due 2 weeks after me! Her parents are Muricio and Paula (pronounced "pow-lah" -- they are Colombian) and they are a very nice couple. We really hit it off, and Paula and Sarah came over for a play date on Friday, which was lots of fun. We're all going over to their house next Sunday for brunch and another play date. Paula is having a boy -- Gregorio.

Saturday was the Montessori school party at one family's house nad it was great -- they had a little haunted house set up in the basement and they had 3 craft stations, healthy snacks adn a decorate your own cookie station. Cute! Sally and Sarah adn Logan had the cutest costumes, I think (most of the other girls were Disney princesses -- ugh, I am so sick of seeing Disney princesses!)

Here's a photo of Sally with Sarah who was dressed as a little Chinese girl. Sarah's daddy travels a lot for work, and he bought her the outfit in China!

Tuesday is craft day at school (was supposed to be Thursday, but that ended up being a snow day) and they asked me to go help out, which I'm looking forward to doing.

I also have my next dr's appointment on Tuesday morning, and we're still deciding what we'll do for Halloween night. We have lots of options -- of course, we'll trick or treat here in the neighborhood, we'll hand out candy for a little while, and then there are an abundance of things do to. At the Douglas County events center, there's a whole slew of indoor activities -- petting zoo, bouncy things, trick or treat, etc. During hte day, the shops in Downtown Castle Rock are having trick or treating for the kids. Should be a fun day all day, I'm thinking.

Still looking for a restaurant where we can have Thanksgiving dinner this year...I'm definitely not cooking since it's only 6 days before my due date!

We'll keep you posted as the days count down.

BTW, we are still considering domain names for Sydney. The guy who owns SydneyGrant.com just renewed and won't give it up, so we're looking into other options. But don't worry, we'll have a site in place before she arrives!
