Welcome to October...and We Did It Again

Sally is very excited about starting her new Montessori school this week. I admit, I'm excited too! I can't wait to see what kinds of things she learns there. And she's super-excited about being with other kids. We decided that after this week, Andy is going to take her in the morning, and then I'll pick her up for lunch. Should work well for us to get some uninterrupted work done in the mornings, then we can all go do something fun in the early afternoons, then Andy and I can hang out or work a bit more during her late afternoon nap. Then we'll all have dinner together and do whatever we choose to do for the evening. At least, that will be our schedule until baby #2 arrives...then it's catch as catch can!

Yesterday was our ultrasound and OB appt and we found out definitively that it's a GIRL ! ! !

Hooray for little Sydney Jane Grant. Now I can finally act on my nesting impulses and finish the nursery. We also set a date for the c-section: Wednesday, November 29th :-)

We were so delighted with the "Guess How Much I Love You" theme that Sally had in our old Metairie home that we've decided to continue that for Sydney as well. Might as well get some more mileage out of those cross-stitched pieces I did!

And the way the room is set up, I'll only have 2 murals/scenes to paint this time. It'll be nice to have somethign so familiar.

Also good to know that we already have a head start on girl's clothing. Of course, we'll need sweaters (and where on earth have all the booties gone? Seems like Sally had dozens of pairs, and I while unpacking her outgrown stuff, I could only find about 4 pairs or so).

Andy left for Hawaii today for the Liberty Conference. I was going to go, and then it just didn't feel right (which is probably a good thing -- I was lying down resting most of hte morning while he was finishing packing. I don't think I would have been up for all the schlepping through airports, etc.)

Daddy will be back on Friday, just in time to see our new Master Closet -- we contracted with Closets By Design (like an upscale version of California Closets) to have our master done, since the builder's options were so limited (and over-priced). I'm very excited -- we've been living out of wardrobe boxes for a few weeks now, which is no fun. Even though we mostly wear t-shirts and shorts (or jammies until about Noon or 1PM), it's still no fun to dig through boxes if we want to wear something nice. At any rate, I'm glad that will get done this week, and I'm realy looking forward to seeing it all set up nicely.

Speaking of setup nicely, I know some people were wondering, and yes, we will register for baby #2. We bought a Peg Perego double-stroller, a super-fancy one, and we still have a baby carseat, so really just need a few things like sweaters and warmer blankets and more booties, crib sheets, a wipes warmer (new climate!) and some random things like that. When Andy gets back from Hawaii, we'll go next week and register at Target and Babies 'R Us.

A couple of people have asked if we're having a shower (becuase they wanted to be invited), and I admit I don't know of any showers that anyone here would be having. But who knows? We're open :-)

At any rate, there's your update for now...ttys!
