Happy 1st Birthday Sydney!
Today is darling Sydney's 1st birthday, and since we already had a party for her in New Orleans, we decided to keep her actual birthday very low-key.
In fact, I've been pretty preoccupied with preparing for my newest teleclass (Fluent Writing), so it was an extremely low-key day.
I did bake her a cake (vanilla with chocolate filling and vanilla frosting) and our friend Meg came over to celebrate and we all shared some cake. Plus, the grownups drank a bottle of Moet Chandon champagne (yum!)
Six teeth, a handful of words and baby signs, and on the verge of walking!
Today was her 1-year checkup and she did great. Her weight is just 9 oz shy of switching to the next-level carseat. Her height and weight are around 20% but her head circumference is >97th percentile. But I swear she doesn't look like a bobble head baby! Otherwise, all is well and she goes back for her next well-baby check at 15 months. She did get her flu shot today...:-(
