Not!! Said Sydney

We were driving in the car and the kids were working on my nerves.

Finally, I said, "We are going to the park, and we're going to have fun whether you kids like it or not!"

and a determined voice came from the backseat:

"NOT!"

And then we all cracked up laughing.

Sally's Palate is Expanding - Hooray!

Finally! Sally has decided she likes SALAD. So maybe it's true that children eat what they see their parents eating - Andy and I have been eating more salads lately, but it still took me by surprise when Sally decided she wanted a bite of my garden salad tonight at dinner (fish tacos) and she liked it so much, she ate half of it and then I fixed her a salad of her own.

Sydney's palate is as strong as ever, and I think they are both in growth spurts because they are eating like mad lately (and I'm sure in a week they'll settle back into their normal quantities, or the ghandi diet, where they barely eat anything for a few days).

Amy discovered Facebook, so that's pretty much been consuming EVERY WAKING MOMENT since yesterday morning. Argh! But it's fun, I'm connecting with folks and gaining exposure for my business and my website.

Spontaneous, Unsolicited "I Love You" from Sydney!

Mommy received an extra special treat today -- for the first time, Sydney spontaneously said, "I love you" without being prompted!

Soooooo sweet!

Sally is enjoying being in school (camp) every weekday now (ok, we all are benefitting from it) and Mommy and Daddy are now playing racquetball 3 times a week. Woo-hoo! But our Rec Center is undergoing renovations and will be closed for a week in August :-( so we'll have to swim outdoors that week I suppose.

Weather is still hot (not as hot as some places, and you know where you are!) with highs in the mid-90s, unseasonably warm for Colorado, and breaking records all around. We're staying cool by taking it easy and just enjoying each other's company. Mommy has moved all her clients to Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Daddy is spending a lot less time working, which means more time for fun as a family. We have another Castle Rock street fest this weekend, so I'm sure we'll get out and about for that.

Today's project: creating privacy screens for the hot tub area. Wink, wink.
