Sally's First Soccer Game

Even though the season started about 6 weeks ago, today was the first chance Sally had to play a soccer game with her team. The weather has been so insanely crazy (we've had snow or rain nearly every Saturday) and for the 1st game of the season, we were out of town.

She did great! We were so proud. Her team has 2 ringers on it -- Taylor and Piper. Sally is headed to Piper's birthday party tomorrow, which should be really fun.

Though Sally didn't score a goal, and seemed a bit timid (yes, I did say timid) about getting in the fray and being aggressive about getting the ball, she did get one solid kick in that headed the proper way down the field.

Sure, they don't "keep score" but we all know her team won 3-2. Go Sunflowers!

And after the game, Sally told Daddy, "Wow! All I had to do was kick it one time and my team won the game!" What a riot.

As we were walking to the car, Sydney looks at me and says, "Sally is a wock stah!"

Yes, Sydney. Sally IS a rock star!

oh and did I tell you? Little Sydney has already learned the team's favorite cheer:

Hey! Hey! We like pink!
We don't like boys 'cuz they stink!

OK, now off to take Sally to another birthday party == this one at the bowling alley. Should be fun!
