Sydney-isms

Here are some things commonly heard from our darling Sydney.

"Awiiite" (allright)
"I wipe off your kiss" (she LOVES to tease like this)
"let's watch a movie!"
"I'll go pee on the potty now so I can get a treat"
"What? For MEEEE? Yaaaaay!"
"What the...HECK?!?" (with arms outstretched upward in a shrugging gesture)
"No, I not seepy" (when she can barely keep her eyes open)
"I needa band-aid!!" (with every bump and bruise. We keep reminding her that only bleeding injuries require band-aids)
"I need my wiamins" (vitamins)

And when asked if she did something specific (and naughty), "Noooooo. I dinint." Then when we remind her to tell the truth, "Oh! Yes, I did."

And out of the mouths of babes...here are some recent classic one-liners from Syd.

Sally was roughhousing on the floor while Sydney was safely watching from her bed. After I had told Sally more than once to settle down, Sydney finally stood up in the bed, pointed sternly at Sally and said, "Sally! You need to CALM DOWN!"

We were out eating Chinese food recently and Sally had finished eating and was devouring all the fortune cookies in sight. She had already eaten hers, mine, daddy's, and was eyeing up Sydney's. "Sydney, can I have your fortune cookie?" To which Syd replied, "Awiite." Syd hands over the cookie and then stands up, points across the table at Sally and says firmly, "You be nice to my cookie!" We almost fell out of our chairs laughing so hard.

Yesterday we all piled in the hot tub. Andy and I were hoping to get a few minutes to relax, but the kids put on their best puppy dog eyes and stared at us with pitiful forlorn expressions through the sliding glass doors until we finally succumbed and told them to go grab their swimsuits. Sydney eases into the hot tub and says, "Who-ooo! That is WARM!"
